The work of MahaDBT portal is in the final stage and this portal will help to deposit the amount directly in the student's account. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has appealed to the representatives of the educational institutions that although there is a delay in receiving the scholarship amount given by the state government to the educational institutions in this academic year, the institutions should give priority to the interests of the students. Also, the Chief Minister has also instructed the District Collector to hold an immediate meeting of the educational institutions which are not providing the benefit of Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Scholarship Scheme.

What is Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Education Fee Reimbursement Scheme?

  • Under Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Educational Fee Reimbursement Scheme, 50% discount in the fees incurred in as many as 605 educational courses under the categories of Higher and Technical Education, Agriculture, Padum, Medical Education has been given through the state government.
  • Students pursuing medical and dental education will also get the benefit of 50 percent fee concession from this year.
  • Last year, Rs 400 crore was spent under this scheme and so far more than 230 thousand students have benefited.
  • In this year's budget, a provision of Rs 958 crore has been made for this scheme.
